An unplanned break from work sounds like a lovely surprise conjuring up visions of rest, relaxation, maybe travel, sun, sea and fun…………not this time!
Unfortunately, my break was full of frustration, worry and stress caused by my computer deciding to take an unplanned break by suddenly closing itself down and going on strike, much to my surprise and despair.
It is quite worrying when we realise how dependent we are on these machines for life to work and flow smoothly.
I hope the problem is fixed now as I have a lot of catching up to do.
This time out though gave me time to reflect on my priorities and brought to mind something I once read (these nuggets of wisdom seem to sit at the back of your mind until the right circumstances bring them out):
The priorities in many lives have become misaligned. People worrying far too much about that which was inconsequential in the scope of life. They only need to step back and see that no amount of worry or anxiety will change things.
Yes, there is never a right time for problems and challenges but they will always spring up, they are a part of life we cannot delete or backspace (how great would that be?)lol.
We have to remember how short life really is, be grateful for the precious people and aspects of our lives that we still have , without which we really would have no quality of life.
Hold your current challenge up against these things and you just might see it with a totally new perspective. It is definetly worth a try and usually sets me back on track if I lose myself in the “brown stuff “of life.
Stop worrying and start loving and living.
